Man... you rock
I love my new Sparrow. It’s simple, well-made, and does just what I need. FYI, this absolutely does work as a MIDI cc controller in Pro Tools (at least on Mac). I am using it to control Mod Wheel, Expression, and two custom cc’s (attack & vibrato) in NI Symphonic Series virtual instruments, instantiated as plug-ins within Pro Tools. It works perfectly. It will NOT, however, work as a Pro Tools peripheral as the website says, at least not without jumping through a lot of hoops.
First, I would give it 10000 stars if I could. It is literally one of a kind in the world. I could not find a unit with 100mm faders other then on big super expensive equipment with ton of features that I don't need. And the fact its mobile is mind blowing. It feels amazing and "playing" modulations on these
is incredible.
Now for the "but". Unfortunately my unit was missing 3 out of the 4 rubber anti slip on the bottom. So as it was, it was basically unusable - Each time you push one of the faders the whole thing moves on most of the surfaces, and even worse, moves to the side because there is 1 rubber stripe holding on.
I ended up hacking some rubber stickers I got in a local store but its not perfect.
A bit annoying. But yea I do understand its made by (probably) one person and the benefit of this thing is so huge, its still worth every penny and is one of the most valuable pieces of hardware in my setup
My Sparrow 4x100mm MIDI controller is the perfect size and perfect functions. I have it set up with the 4 cc functions that I use the most. I highly recommend this MIDI controller!!
I use Sparrow 4x100mm for control my VST midi mocup project in Cubase it just amazing ! highly recommend especially for people who are orchestral composer
